JT DICK

Lead Pastor

JT moved to Denton from Springfield, MO in the summer of 2022 to become the Lead Pastor of C3. He is married to Kali, and together they are proud parents to Ezra, Sable, Atlas, and Juniper. For fun, their family loves to spend time exploring the outdoors: hiking, camping, backpacking, and cycling. They are huge fans of the Kansas City Chiefs, their backyard chickens, and craft coffee. JT has a Master of Theological Studies from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is deeply convicted by gospel centrality as it relates to all areas of the Christian life. He desires to see the saints rest in the promises of Scripture, press into community together, be equipped for the ministry of the church, and be mobilized to share the beauty of Jesus to the heart of Denton and beyond.

CODY MCCOMMAS

Elder

Cody was raised in Granbury, TX, schooled in Denton, TX, and married in Houston, TX. He returned to Denton as soon as he could, then began attending C3 in 2010 as a non-believer. There he was saved, baptized, and shown the Lord’s incredible love and grace. He is married to Karen, wrapped around the tiny little fingers of their young daughters Eliza & Veronica, and always psyched to talk about adoption and foster care. Spare time includes fire pits, cookery, board games, crawfish and having a regular mustache & unmemorable beard. Cody loves being a part of the leadership team and helping everything run smoothly.

BRANDON MILLER

Elder

Brandon was raised on a  chicken farm in the Piney Woods near Nacogdoches Texas. He studied Music Education at UNT and currently teaches music at Hodge Elementary in Denton. His wife Molly, who he met when her dad bought his dad’s chicken farm (it’s essentially a Hallmark movie), is the world’s most wonderful human being and works online for Stitch Fix. They were both raised in the way they should go by intentional, godly parents and have not departed from it. By God’s grace they will impart the same to their children Paloma, Gabriel, and Leona. Brandon wants to remind you that, whatever it is, you should probably pray about it.

Our Staff & Key Leadership

Headshot of Director of Connections Jessica Terrill

JESSICA TERRILL

Director of Connections

Jessica discovered her love for Denton, TX in 2006 when she began her freshman year at UNT. Her love for children’s ministry began years earlier when she was a child, herself. Through the discipleship of her children’s pastors, Jessica’s first leadership role in children’s ministry began when she was 12 years old. She considers her role of connecting people in our church to be a dream come true. Jessica’s other passions include graphic design, anything crafty, and hanging out with her husband, Matt, and three kids, Sawyer, Wesley, and Ava.

CHASE JONES

Director of Youth & Young Adults

Chase was born and raised in Carmel, California. Although he had heard the Gospel before, God pierced his heart on a church trip when he was 15 and he was saved. Ever since that day, he has been passionate about the Gospel and excited to grow in his leadership gifts. Chase has a passion for serving, leading, teaching and discipling people, especially in the context of youth ministry. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies from Belhaven University, and is currently pursuing his Masters Degree from Reformed Theological Seminary. Chase loves to hang out and talk with people about their lives and enjoys playing sports and being outside. He also has a very strange fear of cartoons.

MADI OSWALD

Director of C3 Kids

Madi grew up in Cypress, TX, where she met her high school sweetheart and now husband, Mark. While attending Texas A&M together (whoop), her biology lab partner introduced them to a small group, and then a church, where they both dedicated their lives to the Lord. After graduating they landed in DFW, and their search for a church home led them to C3 and to Denton. A lifelong bossy older sister turned passionate teacher, Madi graduated with her Master of Education in Teaching from UNT in 2023. Serving as the children’s ministry director at C3 combines some of her biggest passions: making gospel truth accessible to everyone, building healthy and fun classroom communities, and equipping families as primary disciples of the next generation. She is grateful to be a part of the leadership team at C3. Madi and Mark are parents to Levi and Quinn, and as a family they love exploring parks, playing sports, and reading the same picture books over and over (and over) again. When she’s not at C3, Madi can usually be found reading under a cozy blanket, on the third stroller walk of the day, or cooking/baking something yummy.

DARLA POWEL

C3 Kids Coordinator

Darla has lived in Denton since 2007 and has been part of our C3 church family since 2018. She was born in Colorado, where she became a follower of Jesus, and lived in many states while making her way to Texas. She was married for 37 years to her high school sweetheart, and they shared many adventures before he passed away in 2016. After 25 years of teaching elementary science and math, Darla retired and is excited to have this new opportunity to share Jesus’ love with our children and their parents. She loves playing with her granddaughter, gardening, baking goodies, writing cards, and is addicted to crocheting baby blankets.
